UAE’s trade with Bahrain hits AED 94.4b in five years












Bilateral trade between the UAE and Bahrain reached AED 98.4 billion between 2009 and 2013, Khalid Ali Al Bustani, acting director general of the Federal Customs Authority has said.

This came during a meeting that Al Bustani held today with a visiting delegation from Bahrain Customs, led by its Chairman Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa.

Al Bustani said direct non-oil trade with Bahrain stood at AED 43.3 billion and free zone trade at AED 55.1 billion during that period. The UAE imports from Bahrain reached AED 38.1 billion, exports 16.6 billion and re-exports 53.7 billion, making Bahrain one of the leading markets for the UAE re-exports.
