RTA’s Awareness Messages Attract 200k Online Visitors Of School, Public Entity Portals

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) revealed that more than 200 thousand online surfers have seen the awareness messages published by the RTA through the portals of government bodies, schools and private businesses in Dubai as well as e-portals since the start of this year.

Engineer Maitha bin udai, CEO of RTA Traffic & Roads Agency, explained that these portals provided immense assistance in realizing the objectives of the Agency as regards traffic safety. “The ‘Awareness Net’ program, which is currently underway at the Agency, is based on spreading awareness messages through websites of government bodies, schools and private companies in Dubai as well as e-portals. More than 200 thousand visitors of these websites have checked RTA’s traffic awareness messages since the start of this year.

“The key underlying concept of this move was to communicate with departments and organizations to upload awareness materials on their webpages, be it publications, awareness-raising flashes or ads. It is also equally important to utilize social media networks in delivering the traffic awareness messages. We have recently designed awareness flashes that include messages and pictorial guidance about traffic rules that have to be observed in Dubai as well as negative practices that ought to be shunned by motorists to avoid crashes,” continued Maitha.

“This sort of smart initiatives will help improve communication channels with the public, particularly amongst those entities targeting a wide spectrum of community members such as the e-Gate of the Ministry of Social Affairs, and the online educational portal of Dubai which attracts the participation of thousands of students and teachers.

“Salama, the child-oriented magazine and online publications of the Traffic Awareness Section are amongst the key materials published online together with questionnaires designed to probe the opinion of employees and customers as regards awareness programs and how to improve them. The growing number of individuals visiting websites in and outside Dubai makes it imperative for the Agency to keep pace with this momentum and capitalize on it, which is what we are currently seeking, besides uploading awareness video clips on RTA’s Youtube account,” added Maitha.

The CEO of RTA Traffic and Roads Agency concluded by noting that utilizing this sort of awareness messages would be a subject of considerable attention in the near future, and urged community members who are concerned with social media channels to publicize the traffic-related flashes & messages and contribute to safeguarding the lives of people.
