Visa Cardholders to Get Free Access to ICFLIX

ICFLIX [pronounced I-see-flix] will be launching a joint initiative with Visa to reward cardholders in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) by giving them free access to the popular online streaming service. When a Visa cardholder purchases a month's subscription on the ICFLIX website, they will get another month of full access for free, meaning that Visa users will get 2 months of unlimited streaming for only 7.99 USD.



Tourism is set to catapult UAE’s GDP growth

Tourism is gaining ground and is set to become big business in the UAE – thanks to a myriad of factors, ranging from mega entertainment and tourism attractions being planned, unbelievable shopping avenues on offer, world-class infrastructure in place and proactive government support to boost tourists’ inflow into the country. No wonder, the total contribution of the travel and tourism sector to the UAE’s gross domestic product is expected to touch AED 122 billion or 8.5 per cent in 2014, a 4.5 per cent year-on-year increase compared to 2013, according to research by the World Travel & Tourism Council.

New book features unique collection of Islamic textiles from Sharjah

The Economist praises Sharjah’s efforts in water conservation
The Economist, a weekly international news and business publication, has confirmed that Sharjah s per capita consumption of water is consistent with the recommendations of the United Nations, pointing to the emirate’s numerous efforts in water conservation. A report by Sharjah Media Centre mentioned that the magazine in its recent issue titled "The World in 2014", commended on the fact that daily water consumption in Sharjah is estimated at around 200 liters per person, which is the average recommended by the UN.
