Sharjah Fountain brings ancient Islamic art to life The Sharjah Fountain at Al Majaz Waterfront brought the ancient Islamic art of Ebru to life with a never seen before art performance by acclaimed Ebru artist Garip Ay from Istanbul. Also known as Water Marbling, this unique method of painting happens in a tray of water (the canvas) where special inks are "swirled and crafted" to produce fascinating works, which are then, traditionally, transferred to paper. The results of this process are unique with no two designs ever exactly the same again.
