Historical Drama, Detroit To Hit Theatres In The Uae On January 11th |

One of this year's most anticipated movies, DETROIT - is set to hit screens on 11th January across the Middle East, including the UAE, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon and Egypt (10th January). Directed by the Academy Award Winning Director, Kathryn Bugelow, who is responsible for some of the industry's most celebrated features including The Hurt Locker and Zero Dark Thirty. This new film by the Director stars two of Hollywood's hottest rising male leads; John Boyega and Anthony Mackie. John Boyega is an English actor best known for playing Finn in the 2015 Star Wars: The Force Awakens and in its 2017 sequel, as well as one of last year's biggest blockbusters, Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Staring alongside Boyega, is Anthony Mackie, who is slowly making his mark in Hollywood as one of the most sought-after actors. Best known for his debut roles in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Avengers: Age of Ultron, with his role in Detroit looking to further shoot the actor into stardom. The story of DETROIT follows a gripping police raid in in the city's namesake in 1967 which results in one of the largest race riots in United States history. It centres around the Algiers Motel incident which occurred in Detroit, Michigan during the racially charged 12th Street Riot. It involves the death of three black men and the brutal beatings of nine other people: seven black men and two white women. The movie also has Academy Award aspirations, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Supporting Roles. |
