Dubai College Of Tourism Announces 20 Scholarships For Retail Course In Collaboration With Dubai Gold And Jewellery Group

 The Dubai College of Tourism (DCT), part of Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism), is partnering with the Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group to award full scholarships to 20 students applying for its Certificate of Retail course, which commences on 9 September this year.

The ‘City of Gold’ scholarship initiative is the first in a series of scholarships that will be awarded under the Dubai College of Tourism Scholarship Fund aimed at further attracting talented Emiratis and expatriate residents into the city’s rapidly evolving tourist-facing workforce. The Scholarship Fund will award several other full academic scholarships that will be developed and maintained in collaboration with leading industry partners.

Each of the 20 recipients of the ‘City of Gold Scholarship’ will be provided with a fully-funded academic grant to cover the total tuition costs throughout the year. Successful candidates will also be able to apply for exciting career opportunities within the DGJG network upon completion of the course, allowing students to enter the workforce with practical experience and valuable industry connections. The scholarship is open to both UAE nationals and expatriate residents.

All interested candidates are encouraged to apply and must include with their applications, a motivation letter on why they should be a recipient of the scholarship. Applicants must also complete the online application procedure for a place in DCT’s Certificate in Retail course and provide all the required documents. In addition, they will be required to complete an English language assessment and a numeracy test. The final stage of the application process is a mandatory in-person interview.

DCT’s one-year Certificate in Retail course aims to shape the future of Dubai’s retail landscape by building awareness of the industry through technology-led processes and structures; developing emerging talent in a customer-centric culture; and fostering career growth by providing students with comprehensive practical focus. The programme also includes working-internships, hands-on training and access to industry insiders to provide students with valuable real-world skills and practical applications.
