"Central Operations" Crowned Champion Of Deputy Commander-In-Chief Of Abu Dhabi Police Ramadan Championship











The Central Operations Department team at Abu Dhabi Police has recently been crowned with the Cup of the Ramadan-special Seven-a-side Football tournaments, as part of the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police Championship. The Al Ain Police team ranked second in the Championship that was organized by the Sport Activities Section at the Strategy and Performance Development at Abu Dhabi Police. A total of 16 teams from Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters’ various departments took part in the 17-day Championship that was held at the Police Staff Club stadium.

H.E Major General Mohammed Khalfan Al Rumaithi, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police, stressed the Abu Dhabi Police leadership’s commitment to developing the sport system for the benefit its staff members. This vision is based on the belief in the importance of practicing sports, being a vital component in the physical, mental and psychological preparation of police, in addition to improving their functional efficiency.

During the ceremony held to honor the top achievers and winners of the championship, Major General Al Rumaithi praised the enthusiastic atmosphere at the championship’s finals and the high spirits of the players. He also commended the performance of both teams who played the final match.

It is worth mentioning that the Central Operations Department team won the final match against the Al Ain Police team 2-1. The Traffic and Patrols Directorate team came in third place, while the Peripheral Regions Police Department team ranked fourth. The Championship’s Best Goalkeeper title was awarded to Abdullah Khaled from the Peripheral Regions Police Department team. The Championship Top Scorer title was awarded to Saleh Ahmed Al Musa’bi from the Department of Community Police team as he scored 8 goals during the Championship.

In addition to H.E Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police, the closing  event was attended by Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director General of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police; Brigadier Ismail Al Sirkal, Deputy Director General of Abu Dhabi Police Central Operations; Colonel Mohammed Hamid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Strategy and Performance Development Director General, the General Secretariat of the Office of H.H Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; in addition to a number of officers, head of departments  and a large crowd of Abu Dhabi Police staff members.

For his part, Major General Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Director General of Central Operations at Abu Dhabi Police stressed the keenness to implement the Police leadership’s directives, which call for training Abu Dhabi Police and MoI’s members, and in encouraging them to practice sport activities. This vision embodies the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters’ strategy that aims to develop its staff members’ efficiency and skills.

On the other hand, Colonel Mohammed Hamid bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Strategy and Performance Development Director General, pointed out the police leadership’s commitment to interact with its staff members, develop their skills, and increase social communication during the Holy Month of Ramadan. “This is achieved by organizing sports events that are characterized by a unique competitive spirit, designed to strengthen social ties among the members of various departments, and to enhance their physical fitness, to allow them to carry out the policing tasks assigned to them efficiently,” he explained.

The events of the closing ceremony of the Ramadan-special Seven-a-side Football tournaments organized as part of the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police Championship, had started with the National Anthem, performed by the Abu Dhabi Police Music Band, who performed a number of traditional Emirati music pieces during the events. As part of the closing ceremony, H.E Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police toured the photo gallery that was held on the sidelines of the Championship under the slogan “Zayed, Humanitarian Work, Love and Loyalty… for Zayed.” Organized by the Cultural and Sport Activities Section at the Clubs Department in Abu Dhabi Police, the gallery showcased a number of photos of late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

The events concluded by honoring the winning teams, along with the Best Goalkeeper and Top Scorer of the Championship. The referee staff of the final matches and the organizing committee of the Ramadan-special Seven-a-side Football tournaments of the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police Championship were also honored. The organizing committee also honored H.E Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police and presented him with a commemorative gift.
