Bourn Hall Fertility Clinic Dubai Reports Highest Pregnancy Success Rates In The UAE

Bourn Hall Clinic Dubai, the UAE arm of the UK clinic that pioneered in vitro fertilisation (IVF) that gave the world its first test-tube baby in 1978 has witnessed a surge in positive pregnancy results in the last 3 months.

The average clinical pregnancy rates for patients under the age of 35 for Bourn Hall Clinic Dubai  has been on average around 60%, as per last year’s results that were reported. However, the outcome of positive pregnancy for May, June and July have been at its highest ever - 77.27% Biochemical rate and a 68% Clinical Pregnancy compared to the previous rate for the first half of 2014 which was 59.14%.

These Dubai based results are well above the national averages of the UK (41.5%) and USA (46.7%), which most clinics around the world consider to be the benchmark given their regulations and high quality standards.

Dr. Maha Khalid, newly appointed CEO at Bourn Hall Clinic Dubai attributes the success to the lab technology, medical team and implementation of the latest reproduction advancements and protocols. “The high pregnancy results are due to our leading Doctors and Embryologists working hand in hand to create the two necessary requirements for achieving the best results which are, the perfect embryo and the perfect environment. Using our state-of-the-art clean room embryology lab and the strict protocols perfected since the first IVF baby allows us to create the environment most desired for the embryo to thrive.”

James Cooper, Lab Director of the Bourn Hall Clinic Embryology lab further adds, “When combined with patient specific stimulation protocols, increased luteal support using aspirin and steroids, immune treatment like intralipids, and adopting a blastocyst over a day 2/3-embryo transfer has allowed us to achieve such promising results”.

The leading UAE clinic has also witnessed a 55% twin rate, meaning over 1 in 2 patients are expecting twin deliveries.

As embryo freezing is not allowed in the UAE it gives patients a tough decision whether to transfer 1 or 2 embryos, and some patients aspire to have twins, so they can avoid repeating IVF  treatment again in the future when the time comes to further grow their family.

With a high twin pregnancy rate seen at BH Dubai it further cements the excellent quality of the embryos generated and egg freezing is offered to reduce this number if patients desire.
