Sharjah Air Wing Finds Two Emiratis Whose Car Had Broken Down In Desert

A search and rescue helicopter at Sharjah Air Wing Section, an affiliate of the Ministry of Interior, found two young Emiratis who had gone missing after their vehicle had broken down in the desert sands of the Central Region of Sharjah.

The Sharjah Air Wing Section was tipped off by the Sharjah Police Operations Room about a four-wheel drive vehicle that had become stuck in the desert of the Al Faya area in Sharjah.

Colonel Pilot Khalifa Abdullah Al Khatri, Acting Chief of Sharjah Air Wing Section, explained that the search and rescue helicopter took off immediately after receiving the report. Air emergency staff from the Sharjah Air Wing Section accompanied the helicopter to the location and found the vehicle and the two young men. The emergency team diagnosed the situation of both Emiratis and discovered that they were in a state of severe fatigue and extreme thirst. They were then moved to the helicopter, where they received first aid onsite.

Both Emiratis expressed their gratitude to the Sharjah Air Wing Section for their quick response and assistance.

Colonel Pilot Khalifa Abdullah Al Khatri urged the public to use the navigational devices that are available in local markets if they plan to take trips into the wilderness with their vehicles.

If an accident or malfunction should occur, these devices will facilitate the search and rescue helicopter in locating those that need help.
