ADCB Leads Breast Cancer Awareness Initiatives In The UAE |

Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) is supporting Breast Cancer Awareness through a month long series of awareness and fundraising initiatives this October. The ADCB sponsored events are aimed to bring the local community together to help fight breast cancer throughout the UAE. ADCB began October, globally recognized as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with its annual ADCB ZSC Pink Run, held at Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi. More than 700 people participated in the ADCB Zayed Sports City 5k and 10k Runs, rendering this October’s event, the most successful edition to date. The event raised funds for Al Jalila Foundation, a UAE-based philanthropic organization, in their support for breast cancer research in the presence of Sheikh Khalifa bin Sultan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, who gave away prizes and awards to the winning athletes. ADCB will continue to raise funds for Al Jalila Foundation through the rest of the month by activities such as ADCB Pink Polo and ADCB Pink Golf Day. Martin Scott, Chief Marketing Officer at ADCB said, “ADCB’s community involvement runs deeper than our financial contribution. We believe the fight against breast cancer is one we can all be part of. The ADCB Tree of Hope was launched in October 2012 with the objective of spreading a strong message of hope for breast cancer research and treatment. ADCB is dedicated to leading community support for this worthy cause.” The ADCB Tree of Hope will be present at each Pink event, allowing people to donate to the cause and post a message of hope to those currently affected by the disease. The messages help to form the budding leaves of the tree branches, bringing the tree to life by month’s end. ATM users can also contribute to the cause by donating AED 1 at the end of each ATM transaction throughout the month of October 2014.
