Beauty Vision Expo Starts In Abu Dhabi, Showcases $2 Billion Cosmetics Sector


First-of-its-kind exhibition to continue till February 5










Beauty Vision, the first-of-its-kind international trade fair for cosmetics, hair, packaging, pharmaceuticals, wellbeing and spas, has brought into focus the $2 billion-worth cosmetics and toiletry sector in the Middle East. Organised by Channels Exhibitions, the show is being held at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) till February 5, 2009. The exhibition was inaugurated this morning by H.E. Reem Yousuf Al Shammari, Board Member of ADNEC. Companies from Italy, Germany, Singapore, Netherlands, Belgium, Taiwan, Lebanon, Switzerland, India and the UAE are taking part in the exhibition. Among the exhibitors from the UAE are Etoile Trading, Nazih Trading, Joz Trading Company, Gita Cosmetics and Japan Emirates Trading. According to official statistics, the sales of cosmetics and perfumes across the Middle East touched $2.1 billion last year. The sector enjoys the highest per capita consumption in the Middle East with an average purchase of around $334 (AED 1,227) per person. Justin Boutros, Managing Director of Channels Exhibitions, said: “With the annual sales in the sector in excess of $2 billion, Beauty Vision offers the right platform to serve the burgeoning cosmetics market in the Middle East. Considering that nearly 50 per cent of the region’s population is below 20 years of age, and 60 per cent is younger than 25 years, there is an inherent market for the cosmetics sector.” The three-day exhibition will redefine the latest trends in the fashion and beauty sector and will involve interactive shows as well as live demonstration of various beauty concepts from participating companies. These include hairstyling, hair design, hair loss treatment, personal care & hygiene, make-up and even demonstration on machines for slimming services. With five unique concepts – Vision Pharma, Vision Retail, Vision Raw, Vision Hair and Vision Wellbeing, Beauty Vision will provide a complete overview of the beauty industry and providing an annual shop window and unique networking opportunity for key buyers and influencers from the whole of GCC, Asia, North Africa, for CIS states and the Indian subcontinent.
