New World Education Launches Kipina Kids Nursery In UAE |

New World Education, an education services company, today announced the launch of Kipina Kids nursery in Abu Dhabi’s Al Bateen area. The first of its kind in the UAE, Kipina is a new innovation in nursery education inspired by Finland’s highly acclaimed early childhood program. Meaning ‘the spark’ in Finnish, Kipina aims to ignite the spark and create a lifetime love for learning in children from four months to four years of age. The curriculum is taught by experienced early childhood educators through direct explicit instruction, an interactive teaching methodology that focuses on six core curricular domains to address the emotional, social, cognitive and physical development of each child. Setting trajectories in early learning to enable a confident and easy transition into mainstream schooling, the program engages parents as partners in their child’s learning journey. Lynn Brucker, Director of Kipina and one of four partners who created the Kipina concept, said: “Kipina is the result of collaborative effort by a group of social entrepreneurs who wish to effect social change in the world. Innovation in education is absolutely essential to help ensure the next generation’s mindset is limitless, creative and entrepreneurial. “We chose the UAE to launch Kipina as the country’s aspirations are very much in alignment with Finland’s and ours. The UAE is on the path toward creating a nation of innovation, which is what Finland was able to achieve in just over a decade. It is also the mindset we are working to create for Kipina Kids. Our hope is to grow and scale Kipina across the UAE and the world in the next few years.” Nina Patari, a veteran educationist from Finland with more than 14 years of experience teaching the early years, has been appointed as Principal of Kipina’s first nursery in Abu Dhabi. Global Academic Director, Cathy McCauley, a 25 year career educator, and developer of the Kipina Curriculum, will focus on providing continued training and mentorship to Kipina’s specialized staff. Kipina’s nursery environment has also been designed to provide children with an inspirational soothing and eco-friendly setting. Natural light, wood furniture and textures are featured throughout the nursery. Smart boards, computers and tablets, as well as well-equipped resource rooms have been incorporated to support Kipina’s 21st century learning philosophy of inspiring innovation and igniting children’s imagination. Open from 7:00am through to 6.30pm, five days a week, Kipina offers a transparent fee structure and live CCTV coverage of the classrooms to parents.
