In its participation at the recently concluded Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival, Tadweer (Center of Waste Management - Abu Dhabi) provided the highest level of cleaning services to ensure that the festival site maintained stringent standards of hygiene throughout the 22-day event.

Tadweer’s services included bulk and green waste removal, as well as sweeping and cleaning, and waste collection from 6 am to 12 pm To ensure the optimum efficiency of its services, Tadweer deployed a dedicated team of cleaners, foremen and supervisors at the festival site along with six waste collection machines including pickup, tipper, sweeper and Bob Cat machine and 63 waste bins. Tadweer also used 29,900 Plastic bags biodegradable to collect nearly 565 tons of waste at the conclusion of the festival.

Hosted at Al Wathba in Abu Dhabi, the Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival ran from November 20 to December 12 highlighting the rich traditions, culture and heritage of the UAE.

His Excellency Eisa Saif Al Qubaisi, General Manager, Tadweer, said: “Our support and engagement in ensuring the success of the Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival, one of the largest heritage events in the UAE, reiterated our commitment to maintaining a positive image of the emirate, while expressing our love and pride in the history and heritage of the country. At Tadweer, we spare no efforts in collaborating with our partners across both public and private sectors towards achieving our strategic goal of creating a sustainable future for the emirate as outlined in the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030."

The Sheikh Zayed Heritage Festival included a series of workshops, exhibitions and interactive booths that replicated the traditional lifestyle of the UAE through showcasing a wide variety of household items, objects and tools used in the past. A key highlight of the festival was the ‘Memories of a Nation’ Museum that displayed rare documents and pictures highlighting the history of the UAE and the life of the nation’s founding father, late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The sheer size and scale of the festival necessitated massive efforts from Tadweer to maintain the cleanliness of the site as well as the different venues that hosted cultural activities.

In cooperation with its strategic partners, Tadweer pursues an active strategy that integrates sustainable waste management practices such as waste reduction at source and waste reuse and recycling into its daily operations. To educate public about the importance of waste reduction and recycling, Tadweer conducts a series of public outreach programs to complement its year-round initiatives and campaigns.
