International Conference On Control Of Infection Calls For Integrating Infection Control Programmes Into Medical Education











Participants at 1st SEHA International Conference on Prevention and Control of Infection have called for integrating prevention and control infection programmes in curricula of medical schools at the end of their two-day event, held in Abu Dhabi.

Convened from 14th to 15th September under the theme "Innovate, Prevent and Save Lives", the congress assembled more than 700 of infection control practitioners, physicians, microbiologists and healthcare professionals in the region to further the cause of patient safety and quality improvement through prevention and control of infection.

The participants also recommended the launch of a national specialised institute of control of infection in health facilities and the introduction of local stadardised standards and methods for prevention of infection.

They also called for issuing local certificates for specialists of infection control in hospitals.

Prominent national and international speakers and leading experts in this field provided comprehensive, up-to-date research-based answers to the most frequent questions that arise on prevention and control of infection in every day practice.

During the event, key opinion leaders, clinicians, policy makers, and stakeholders in the infection control community shared their knowledge and expertise and fostered relationships while discussing the future collaborations to enhance the quality and safety practices in prevention and control of infection.
