Sharjah Airport Authority In Collaboration With TRA Run Cybersecurity Awareness Course











Sharjah Airport Authority recently ran a course about information technology security for its employees in collaboration with Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA). Organized by the airport’s Support Services Department, the three-day course taught participants the latest techniques and methods to protect the authority’s information and data  and raising awareness on the importance of IT security and the role and responsibility of each employee in this regard.

The Cyber security course was aimed, also, at teaching the proper practices to protect the Sharjah International Airport’s IT from cybercrimes including fraud, identity theft, malware, phishing or hacking among many more risks.

The quarterly bilingual “IT Security” course was designed for multilevel employees across several departments. It aims to specify the requirements for the highest quality of and best practices in IT security management, which help the authority in implementing the ISO 27001:2013.

Eng. Lamia Obaid Al Shamsi, Director of Support Services at the authority, said: “We ensure our staff are fully aware of the latest protocols in cyber security and customer service in order to ensure our passengers receive the very best experience when using Sharjah International Airport. Staff learnt the best practices to reduce risks in line with the National Cyber Security Strategy introduced by the National Electronic Security Authority NESA  to ensure a safe ICT infrastructure”.

The course helped enhance and protect the IT security and enable employees deal with any potential cyber threats. In addition, the course focused on expediting and streamlining the business process to ensure providing quick and easy services to passengers and customers.
