Khalifa University Showcases Research Projects In Oil And Gas Sector At ADIPEC 2017


Faculty and Students from Petroleum Institute Participate in Sharing of Knowledge and Experience










The Khalifa University of Science and Technology, a research university dedicated to the advancement of learning through teaching and research and to discovery and application of knowledge, has announced it is participating through Petroleum Institute as an academic partner in the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) 2017.

ADIPEC, which opened today, runs until 16 November at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). It has brought together more than 100.000 leading trade professionals, technology experts, and decision makers, in the oil and gas sector.

At the university's stand, faculty and students are showcasing several advanced scientific research projects in the oil and gas industry. In addition, the seminars and discussion panels at ADIPEC will highlight the research efforts of Petroleum Institute that aim to provide its regional partners with the necessary studies and research that contribute to accelerating the industry's growth.

More than 45 students from the university are part of the Young ADIPEC program, which aims to engage the youth in the oil and gas sector, and provide a platform for young Emiratis to exchange knowledge and experience. The program also aims to inspire young students and professionals to interact directly with today's industry leaders, paving the way to become leaders of tomorrow and contribute in finding innovative solutions to the challenges facing the sector.

Dr. Ali Al Mansouri, Interim Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, Khalifa University of Science and Technology, said: "As an academic partner in this important event, we are pleased to showcase the advanced research projects of our students and faculty in the vital oil and gas field. Our participation in one of the largest and most important exhibitions in this field is a proof of the quality of education, research, and academic outcome of the university, which is represented here by the Petroleum Institute."

Dr. Asli Hassan, Assistant Professor of English Language and Communication, and Dr. Mona Abdullah Balfakih, Chair and Assistant Counselor for English and Communication, will deliver speeches to Young ADIPEC participants on 16 November. They will focus on the most important skills the youth must acquire in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, and how to use them and share with others. A number of faculty members and students from the Petroleum Institute of the Khalifa University of Science and Technology will also present different research papers during the exhibition days. More than 1,500 students from across the UAE have joined Young ADIPEC program.
