The capital will ring in the new year with a programme packed full of exciting events and entertainment; from thrilling concerts by international, regional and local performers, bands and DJs to activities, installations and workshops for the whole family. The four-day outdoor New Year’s Eve Countdown Village at breakwater Abu Dhabi welcomes visitors of all ages to celebrate the final days and hours of 2017.
Headlining the spectacular celebrations at Abu Dhabi’s specially designed first-ever New Year’s Eve Countdown Village will be Emirati singing sensations, Hussain Al Jassmi, Mohammed Al Shehhi, Arab superstar, Fouad Abdulwahed, and Egyptian multi-talented music star, Tamer Hosny. Also performing will be UAE-based rock band The Boxtones, violinist-vocalist extraordinaire HÄANA, and Algerian Berber singer Soaud Massi.
Led by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, the CountdownVillage will also host a multitude of other stage performances and acts, including the superstar DJ from Paris, DJ Keza, UAE-based DJ Oz, Canadian-Lebanese singer Danny Aridi, UAE-based band Carl and the Reda Mafia, and the renowned bands Arnabeat, Lulu Project, and Tarabband. Other on-stage shows include fitness challenges such as boxing, MMA, Body Attack, and Muay Thai led by the LEZ Mills Primal Gym. The Countdown Village also brings together a wide range of entertaining performances and activities on the Kids Stage, with the Angry Birds show performed four times daily, followed by a meet and greet with its beloved characters.
