Abu Dhabi Festival Welcomes UK’s Ministry Of Science’s Incredible Inventions

As part of its commitment to foster an appetite of learning amongst the nation’s youth, the Abu Dhabi Festival welcomed the UK’s Ministry of Science to the UAE for the fourth year in association with Mubadala – bringing mankind’s incredible inventions to new audiences in Abu Dhabi and across the northern parts of UAE. Upholding the UAE’s scientific quest in partnership with Art for All and supported by the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development, the Ministry of Science explored scientific phenomena using brilliantly designed demonstrations.

This new production took a revolutionary approach to science communication, looking at the inventors and engineers who have shaped and inspired the modern world that we live in – accompanied by plenty of bangs and demonstrations. The performance took viewers, young and old, on a journey inside the fascinating world of science, exploring the wonders of science and engineering.

In the capital, English workshops amazed little scientists in the Emirates National School for Girls, while Arabic shows across the northern regions were held in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development in their cultural centres across Ajman, Ras al-Khaimah and Fujairah. The shows were presented by Mohammed AlShamsi, Abu Dhabi TV’s International News Presenter and an Alumni of the Abu Dhabi Music & Foundation’s (ADMAF) Young Media Leaders Programme.

The production is the latest initiative by the Abu Dhabi Music & Arts Foundation (ADMAF) that explores the crossroads of arts and science, as part of the Abu Dhabi Festival’s Youth Platforms and Community Programmes to engage, empower and nurture the UAE’s young creatives.
