Arab Health Ministers Hail Emirates World Humanitarian Mobile Hospital











A number of the Arab Health Ministers have lauded setting up of Emirates World Humanitarian Mobile Hospital, which offers comprehensive medical services and train medical cadres as per world class standard.

Bahraini Minister of Health His Excellency Faisal Al Hamr said the idea of Emirates mobile hospital "is unique of its kind in the world. It is a pioneer step in the humanitarian voluntary work. The services rendered by the hospital are added to the voluntary and charity achievements scored by the UAE in this field." "The Bahraini Health ministry is ready to take part in the medical work through providing specialist doctors and technicians since this humanitarian work eases suffering of the needy patients amidst soaring costs of the treatment worldwide", he said.

Syrian Health Minister Rida Saeed, said that Emirates Mobile Hospital "is a civilised step, which will boost quality of voluntary medical work through provision of the best medical services to the needy", adding that the voluntary medical services worldwide usually offer medical services for short time not exceeding two weeks at best, but Emirates Mobile Hospital provides medical services in each country for continuous three months- a procedure that enables the medical team to accurately diagnose and offer good treatment.

He added that the Syrian Ministry of Health has provided doctors and technicians to further make such a landmark medical work a success.

On his part, Minister of Health in South Sudan Joseph Wejang thanked His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Representative of Ruler in Western Region and Chairman of the Red Crescent Authority, for choosing South Sudan as the first station of Emirates Mobile Hospital, adding that the move "reflects depth of the relations between the UAE and Sudan". He added that the Sudanese people will not forget such a generosity, which is currently being offered by the UAE.

He underscored that tens of patients pour daily to Emirates Mobile Hospital in South Sudan, to receive treatment and medicines free from the UAE national, Arab and international medical cadres.

UAE National Heart Surgeon, Chief Executive of the Zayed Charity Initiative and Executive Director of Emirates World Mobile Hospital, Dr Adel Al Shamri, said that "one-day-surgery unit has been set up with the latest medical equipment and will be operational by October. He added that the Emirates mobile hospital received since August over 3, 000 patients, who suffered from different diseases, indicating that tens of surgeries have been conducted and medicines have been distributed free to the patients.

He noted that medical and administrative cadres would increase in next period to further provide the best preventive, curative and surgical services.

Emirates Mobile Hospital was set up in June in South Sudan in line with the humanitarian and charity work being discharged by the UAE in many countries across the globe in partnership with the ministries of Health in the host countries. It has wooed elite of doctors and technicians from sisterly and friendly countries.

The initiative of Emirates Mobile Hospital was launched in memory of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, founder of the UAE and in extension to humanitarian efforts being exerted by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and in translation of the instructions of His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces. The imitative also enjoys support from both Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister, to alleviate suffering of the needy categories, particularly the elderly and children worldwide.

Emirates Mobile Hospital operates in partnership with the Sudanese ministry of Health through joint medical, surgical and administrative team. Emirates mobile hospital, Juba teaching hospital and the medical services team of the General Headquarters of Abu Dhabi Police work jointly in Juba, in South Sudan. Earlier the Emirates National Emergency Response team erected the mobile hospital in Juba.

The UAE public and private institutions and corporations are taking part in Emirates mobile Hospital in an exemplary joint cooperation model.
