2010 ADIBF Draws International Authors

Four months before the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF) officially opens its doors, the organisers are pleased to announce that authors from more than 10 countries have already confirmed their attendance at the 20th ADIBF from 2 - 7 March 2010.

Among them will be many authors from the Arab World, including internationally renowned writers from Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine and the United Arab Emirates; the short listed nominees for the 2010 International Prize for Arabic Fiction; and the winners of the next edition of the Sheikh Zayed Book Award.

With their close historical and cultural ties to the Gulf region, a significant literary presence from India and Pakistan is only natural - these two countries will be represented by a selection of high-profile novelists, poets and screenwriters.

From Europe and the United States, the ADIBF looks forward to hosting several young authors whose celebrated new titles have made ripples in the literary pond from New York to Frankfurt and beyond. We also invite you to join us in extending a warm welcome to a number of authors from the international Arab community abroad, some of whom are appearing at a book fair in the Arab World for the first time.

Confirmed authors for the 2010 ADIBF include Adam Haslett (the United States), Ahlam Mosteghanemi (Algeria), Bapsi Sidhwa (Pakistan), Mathias Enard (France), Tarun Tejpal (India) and many more.

The 2010 Abu Dhabi International Book Fair will be held from 2 - 7 March 2010 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. The ADIBF is organised by KITAB, a joint venture between the Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage and the Frankfurt Book Fair (one of the most successful publishing industry fairs worldwide).
