ADACH to participate in Abu Dhabi Recruitment Show 2010

The Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH) - represented by the Department of Human Resources - is participating in the fourth edition of the Abu Dhabi recruitment show "Tawdheef 2010", which will take place on February 2-4 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), in an effort to attract national talent in various fields.

This participation is part of the Authority’s rich 2010 cultural agenda and falls within its 2008-2012 strategy.

Abdul Rahim Khouri, Director of Human Resources in ADACH, stressed the Authority’s keenness to maintain a continued presence in the most important recruitment fairs. These fairs are aimed at introducing graduate students to the nature of the Authority’s work and displaying the available jobs on offer through the Department of Human Resources and a number of other specialized departments.

ADACH offers rare opportunities for UAE citizens to work in projects of heritage conservation and promotion, the management of museums and restoration work and library services and cultural work as a whole. In addition to this many opportunities are on offer within administrative, financial, technical and logistics areas.

Large percentage of ADACH’s total workforce is comprised of UAE nationals. There are a large number of Emiratis working in detailed disciplines within the fields of museums, restoration and archaeological excavation. In addition to this they are involved in setting out cultural work strategies and operating the mechanisms necessary to implement and execute them.

The year 2009 was ADACH’s turning point as it signaled an important stage of the overall phase of the implementation of the Strategic Plan for 2008-2012.

The past year has witnessed a shift in the majority of ADACH’s projects towards a continuous institutional formula. This shift is a clear sign of a wise choice, and has enjoyed great success and positive feedback from the public locally, regionally and globally.

The Department of Human Resources has adopted a wide recruitment campaign for 2010 to keep up with the launch and completion of cultural and heritage projects. ADACH’s efforts have contributed to promoting Abu Dhabi’s position as a hub for major cultural and artistic events, putting its activities on the world’s cultural map and making it a destination for artists and creators from around the world who are drawn to this outstanding cultural and artistic movement.

"ADACH follows high standards in the recruitment process through the techniques used by the evaluation center of the Department of Human Resources which include working on preparing and testing the candidates for the new posts," said Khouri, adding that this technique "is methodological and based on unique criteria which will ensure the quality of the choice." "There is a plan for cooperation, in line with the pursuit of excellence at both local and international levels, with the major universities and academies of the world to create a training center dedicated to the development of ADACH’s managerial competencies in various fields," noted Khouri.
