ADMA-OPCO Organizes Traffic Awareness Lecture Jointly With Abu Dhabi Traffic Police

As part of the 26th AGCC Traffic Week, the Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (ADMA-OPCO), in collaboration with the Traffic & Patrols Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police organised a traffic awareness lecture, on Wednesday March 24th, 2010, at the Company Auditorium.

The lecture, titled: “Beware of Others’ Mistake”, was delivered by 1st Lieutenant Jumaa Al Hosani , Director of Traffic Violations and Precedents Department at the Traffic & Patrols Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police.

1st Lt. Hosani highlighted the need to comply with traffic rules and regulations and ensure that our vehicles are safe to drive before we start any trip. “To avoid road surprises and others’ mistakes on the road which result on fatal accidents and injuries, we should make sure that we comply with all rules and regulations and check the engine, brake, oil and everything in our vehicles”.

He said the road is like a whole community which embraces everyone, be it a motorist, a passenger or a pedestrian. “We all share the same road. Therefore, we should take extra care to ensure each other’s safety. While motorists should adopt what is termed “preventive driving”, commuters and pedestrians should stay vigilant. Everyone has a role to play by respecting others’ rights.”

The lecturer warned against jumping red signal, a violation which leads to fatal incidents, pointing out that harsh penalties await the offenders. The lecture concluded with a Q&A session.

Ahmed Saleh Al Braiki, Manager Public Relations Division (Acting) presented a memento to the lecturer at the end of the event.
