ADNH To Set Up New Water And Desert Theme Parks











H.E. Saif Mohammed Al Hajri, Chairman of Abu Dhabi National Hotels, (ADNH) has announced to open the newest and largest water hotel in Abu Dhabi by the end of this year.

The hotel known as Grand Canal will add to the quality of the leisure tourism in the emirate of Abu Dhabi as it is inspired by the architectural Italian city of Venice.

"Grand Canal owned by Abu Dhabi National Hotels constructed on the sea coast, will add a new dimension to green tourism and will be considered one of the most beautiful touristic resorts not just in the UAE but also in the Gulf and the Arab region", he said this at Gulf Travel and Incentives Exhibition and Conference (GIBTM) at ADNEC in Abu Dhabi.

Al Hajri also announced that ADNH will open Park Hyatt hotel on Saadiyat Island in the first quarter of next year.

He explained that the company will continue to grow and expand to serve the tourism sector in the emirate of Abu Dhabi and the UAE. For this regard, Al Hajri pointed out that it has recently opened Sofitel hotel owned by the company in Dubai and comprises 438 rooms.

"The company will not stop and will not defer any of the projects that have been agreed upon, for the full conviction that there is a promising future awaiting the tourism industry in Abu Dhabi and the UAE," Al Hajri said He also announced the determination of the Abu Dhabi National Hotels, the establishment of desert resorts in the emirate of Abu Dhabi in the coming stage, pointing out that the company is currently conducting research and studies in preparation for such projects aimed to benefit from the nature of the desert in Abu Dhabi and the picturesque golden sands. "Such desert resorts will attract many tourists from Europe," he said.

All the hotels in ADNH consider the environment protection and saving energy by relying on modern technology.

Al Hajri pointed out that the company continues its plans for future growth and expansion in the tourism market, stressing that the decline in travel rates is temporary, which will last for a few months only.

He said ADNH is determined to develop Al Diyar hotels group within the state making them a unique sign of tourism market and travel in the UAE.

Al-Hajri also said that the ADNH was determined to develop their owned company / Sunshine Tours/, pointing out the vital role played by this company in the development of eco-tourism and desert-tourism.

He said the company has provided tourist programs for thousands of foreign tourists from within the UAE too. He greeted the interesting programs for a stroll in the golden sands of the emirate of Abu Dhabi’s nature.

"All the subsidiaries of the Abu Dhabi National Hotels had an excellent performance despite the global economic financial crisis, which is temporary and will not last long," he added.

He predicted that the high number of hotel rooms in the emirate of Abu Dhabi would cause prices to fall, which benefits tourists and visitors. "This comes in the interest of tourists and motivates everyone to improve services to visitors from inside and outside the state," He pointed, "in the end the competitive situation in the interest of the consumer." Al Hajri expected to see hotels related to ADNH to leap in the numbers of tourists and visitors in the summer of 2011 and 2012 because of the expected growth in the global economy during that period.

He stressed that the German and European markets is one of the most important tourist markets of the ADNH. Al Hajri added that ADNH have reached numerous new contracts and agreements at the Berlin ITB 2010 to bring in more tourists this year and 2011.

Chairman of Abu Dhabi National Hotels commended the efforts of the Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company and Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority and Etihad Airways to promote and highlight the role of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi as a tourist destination and economic force which will reflect positively on the performance of the Abu Dhabi National Hotels.

He believed that Louvre Abu Dhabi is a qualitative addition to a series of projects under development in the Cultural District, including Sheikh Zayed National Museum, and the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, and the House of Arts ’&’ Performance, and the Marine Museum, and the Biennale garden consisting of devoted arts and culture, where these projects to meet in creating a cultural destination as the most prominent of its kind in the world.
