Municipality Of Abu Dhabi City Hosts A Workshop To Promote Partnership With "Masdar" |

HE Khalifa Mohammad Al Mazroui, General Manager of the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City, stated that strengthening the strategic partnerships plays a pivotal role in supporting the values of sustainable development towards safeguarding the community’s future ’&’ life, and shaping the landmarks of a modern city with abundant safety elements, at the forefront of which comes the environmental safety, and the provision of all aspects of modern life in Abu Dhabi city. Al Mazroui made these comments when he opened the introductory session of the joint workshop hosted by the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City, which was organized in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company ’Masdar’, in the presence of Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jabir, the Chief Executive Officer of the Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, and several key officials from the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City and Masdar. He reviewed the possible areas for cooperation, promoting partnerships, and enhancing the integration between the Municipality and Masdar. He also highlighted the need for introducing the employees of the Municipality to the initiative of Masdar; which embodies Abu Dhabi’s Vision and commitment to investing in future energy and providing sustainable environment. "The Municipality of Abu Dhabi City is formulating its policies and strategic plans to bring them in line with the strategic approach of the Government of Abu Dhabi and its 2030 Plan, which focuses on conserving the environmental resources and management of sustainable environment; and considers them integral parts of any activity, initiative or project. The Municipality of Abu Dhabi City assigns due attention to the importance of promoting the cultural and environmental practices, and is directly concerned with the environmental sustainability through adopting energy cutting and waste recycling programs" said Al Mazroui. "The Municipality is keen on promoting strategic and constructive partnerships with all parties. It is also working towards defining and identifying ways of cooperating with these parties in all fields, especially in the technical fields, and sharing expertise & knowledge as is the case with Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company," continued Al Mazroui. It is worth mentioning that the two-day workshop, featuring participation of a number of experts and professionals from the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City and Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar), also reviewed a number of practices and initiatives to promote sustainable cities, encourage integration and harmony, promote partnerships in the fields of sustainability, landscaping, infrastructure, and building design, in addition to standards and criteria of building and specifications". During the workshop, the Municipality held induction presentations for its services, including its role in establishing the landmarks of the modern city, and providing the basic ingredients of modern life in Abu Dhabi city, which now offers a secure life to its residents at top-class standards. The workshop also included a presentation on the implementation of vital projects such as the development and improvement of roads network and its impact on the process of comprehensive development in Abu Dhabi and the need to keep pace with the growing momentum of development and investment witnessed by the emirate. It also made a presentation about the municipal services including tasks and duties made to realize the vision of the Municipality with a view to achieving the best public and health services, and providing a pleasant life for Abu Dhabi City residents in a capital that takes pride of its clean, healthy and safe environment. For its part, Masdar made a presentation highlighting its crucial role in making Abu Dhabi city a center for alternative energy and clean technology, which illustrates Abu Dhabi’s vision and commitment to invest in future energy and provide a sustainable environment. The company undertakes the implementation of the initiative, which is based on investing in the energy sector with the aim of meeting the global needs and developing advanced sources ’&’ sustainable technologies of energy.
