ADMA-OPCO Holds 5Th Future Leaders Conference











The Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (ADMA-OPCO) held its 5th Future Leaders Conference to celebrate the development of young national professionals, on May 25th -26th 2010, at the InterContinental Hotel Abu Dhabi.

The two-day conference, held in line with ADNOC’s policy to recruit young nationals and prepare them to hold leading positions in the oil and gas sector, discussed national employees’ development plans, leadership skills and industry challenges. It highlighted success stories and achievements of young national employees, opportunities for career development, ways of strengthening employees’ experience and lessons learnt.

The conference was attended by representatives of Shareholders, members of the General Management, Asset and Divisional Managers as well as a large number of company employees.

In his opening address, Chief Executive Officer, Ali Rashid Al-Jarwan underlined the importance of engaging young national employees in the most effective way to enable them to carry out their tasks and responsibilities efficiently in a way that will secure achieving the company’s future plans and objectives, assuring the General Management’s support to young national employees.

“People development is one of the major challenges ADMA-OPCO is facing and one of the vehicles we use to inspire our younger generation is the annual Future Leaders Conference,” said Ali Saeed Al Mazroui, Senior Vice President (Administrative Services).

“We have been running this conference for the last 5 years, and every year we see it evolving to reach a new level of excellence by engaging more young employees not only as attendees but as organizers as well” he added.

A main element of this year conference was a lecture delivered by Dr. Ibrahim Al Khulaifi, a renowned psychologist & expert in education and personal development. The agenda of the conference also involved syndicate sessions which discussed training, development and challenges facing young professionals. To refresh the participants, a challenging learning activity was organized with the emphasis on strategic planning & implementation skills as well as the ability to collaborate and apply the Company’s “One Team” concept.

Young professional delegates were given the opportunity to network with role models and share knowledge and expertise.

At the end of the event, best achievers were presented with awards and certificates of recognition.
