Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority’s consumer website – www.visitabudhabi.ae – now has a Japanese version. The move into Japanese – the website’s sixth language version – comes as the authority looks to further penetrate the high potential market made more accessible with the recent launch by Etihad, the award-winning national airline of the United Arab Emirates, of non-stop flights to Abu Dhabi from Nagoya, Japan’s third largest city and its capital, Tokyo. The number of Japanese nationals staying in the emirate’s hotels in the first four months of this year rose 1% on the same period in 2009 to stand at 2,782. During the same period, the number of Japanese visitors to the website rose by 26% year-on-year. “There is obvious increasing demand from the Japanese market for information about Abu Dhabi as a tourism destination and we want these visitors to be able to view the content in their own language so they feel more at home and we have a greater chance of imparting our case,” said Khalid Al Hashemi, ADTA Director of Administration. www.visitabudhabi.ae offers practical and detailed visitor information, has links to hotels and service providers like taxis, car rental agencies, Abu Dhabi International Airport and Etihad, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates. |
