Countdown To Abu Dhabi Swimming Festival 2010

Commonwealth Games Medalist Fran Halsall is honorary starter. Hundreds of participants already confirmed for October 16th.

The Abu Dhabi Swimming Festival 2010, under the patronage of Abu Dhabi Beaches, will take place this Saturday October 16th. Commonwealth Games Gold Medalist, Fran Halsall will arrive later this week, attending the inaugural event as VIP guest and honorary starter.

To date hundreds of competitors have signed up for the festival’s races, including the festival’s feature event, the Waha Capital Abu Dhabi Mile, where the winning male and female will each receive a prize fund of AED 5,000. In the Etihad Holidays Splash Dash, the winning male and female will each receive two business class tickets to any Etihad Airways destination in Europe.

Event Organizer, Jamie Cunningham, CEO of Professional Sports Group, added:

“We are looking forward to this Saturday’s Swimming Festival – it’s set to be a great morning out for the whole family. With a number of races to suit everyone, along with some great prizes up for grabs, it’s fantastic that the Festival is attracting mass participation from the UAE community, as well as a number of international competitors.”
