Abu Dhabi Ports Company Goes Live With Complete Oracle ERP Solution To Enhance Operational Efficiencies

Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC), a developer of ports, industrial zones, trade & logistics zones, and related services in Abu Dhabi emirate has gone live with Oracle E-Business Suite to enhance operational efficiencies, empower informed decision making and further strengthen the security of its IT infrastructure.

The Oracle products implemented by ADPC include Oracle Financials, Oracle Procurement, Oracle Siebel Collections, Oracle Siebel Administration Server, Oracle Hyperion and Oracle Universal Content Management.

ADPC’s move was prompted by the exponential growth of its operational activities and the disparate nature of its previous IT system which meant that business applications and software were used in isolation and incapable of handling current requirements and future needs across the enterprise.

As a result of the Oracle implementation, ADPC now boasts a single web based solution tightly integrated with all legacy systems, an end to end integration between various business processes of various departments like finance, procurement and HR as well as a world class CRM solution to manage, retain and increase the customer base. On top of that, the Oracle solution provides daily business intelligence that empowers information based management decisions and a powerful document management system integrated with ERP.

The implementation of the Oracle solution has been facilitated by Fujitsu, a leading global provider of customer-focused ITC solutions. Its customers include over half the Fortune Global 500 companies. Headquartered in Japan, Fujitsu has been operating out of the UAE for the last four decades from his offices in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

“At Oracle we take time to completely understand the specific needs and challenges of our client before we develop tailor-made solutions based on the wide range of our products’ portfolio. The sheer volume of the Oracle products deployed in this case speaks volumes of our methodical approach, painstaking attention to detail and commitment to provide a comprehensive solution that covers every possible angle,” said Arun Khehar, Vice President, MRD, Oracle - ME&A.

“One of the main reasons that led us to the selection of Oracle was our desire to streamline our internal procurement processes through the integration of the three separate departments which had been a stalling factor delaying critical decisions. After the Oracle advanced procurement modules were installed across the enterprise, there has been a substantial improvement in the decision-making process. Also, Oracle Financials has helped us to apply best practices dictated by more astute and strict financial and budgetary control,” said Dr. Saif Al Ketbi, Vice President, IT, Abu Dhabi Ports Company.

Suhail Ahmed, Engagement Manager of Fujitsu Consulting said: “From consultancy services to implementation and training support, we worked hand in hand with ADPC to introduce the new solution and educate the key stakeholders on its applications and usage.”
