Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Tours ADEC Pavilion At Najah Exhibition 2010











H.E. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, inaugurated the 4th Najah Education Training Careers 2010 held at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). Sheikh Nahyan was accompanied by H.E Humaid Al Qatami, Minister of Education and Mr. Salem Al Sayari, ADEC’s Executive Director of Support Services. After the inauguration, HE Sheikh Nahyan toured ADEC pavilion, one of the biggest in the exhibition, to explore the programs and services provided to students and visitors by ADEC.

Mr. Salem Al Sayari said that ADEC’s continuous and active participation in the exhibition comes in line with its 10-year strategic plan aiming at developing the educational system in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in collaboration with all stakeholders. “ADEC aims to showcase Abu Dhabi’s world class educational opportunities and provide students with specific information about ADEC’s scholarships and academic programs” Al Sayari added.

The main purpose of Najah is to allow our students and visitors to envision their academic and career paths to help them pursue their higher education and achieve their future goals, Al Sayari pointed out. “A series of school visits from across the Emirate to Najah will be organized. Specific academic related information and career counseling services will be provided to our G12 students in order to help them explore the academic and career opportunities”, he added.

ADEC is hosting information booths for six of its key higher education partners i.e. ADVETI, Emirates College for Advanced Education, INSEAD, Paris-Sorbonne University -Abu Dhabi, New York University, Mohammed V University, he indicated.

Taskforces from ADEC will be giving daily presentations on the scholarships and training programs provided by ADEC. These programs include the recently launched Nibras Scholarship Program as well as several other scholarship programs offered in collaboration with governmental departments such as Al Nokhba Program, Transport Engineering Program, Planning Engineering Program, Museum Studies Program and Degree Program for Abu Dhabi Government Employees and Physicians. Training programs include the Summer Abroad Training Program - a generous grant from H.H. General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Education Council - Al Nokhba Summer Training Program and Pembroke College Summer Training Program (Oxford University). During the exhibition ADEC is offering 75 new jobs and is accepting applications from students and visitors to join its ranks.

During the 4th Education and Career Forum, organized as part of Najah Education Training Careers 2010, Mrs. Mona Majed Al Mansoori, ADEC’s Guidance & Scholarship Division Manager, gave a presentation on the role and areas of priorities of higher education in Abu Dhabi. The presentation also discussed the best means to develop the higher education sector in line with the highest international standards in order to help meet the economic, social and cultural needs of the Emirate. Mrs. Al Mansoori briefed students and attendants on the grants and scholarship programs developed by ADEC to help graduate the highly qualified human capital that meets the job market requirements.

ADEC monitors the screening and selection of students applying for scholarship programs and provides them with the necessary counseling and support services in UAE and abroad. In addition, all university tuition fees and student stipends are fully covered by ADEC.
