UAE Grabs Gold Medals In Asian International Stamp Exhibition











The Emirates Philatelic Association (EPA) participated in the 26th Asian International Stamp Exhibition held in Johannesburg, South African from 27 - 31 October 2010. The exhibitors from 35 countries participated in the show.

EPA participants in the show won number of laurels for their entries at the exhibition.

Mr Mohamad Aktar Sayeed won Gold medal for his exhibit "Cap of Good Hope". Mr Ahmad Bin Eisa Al Serkal won Vermeil medal for "Abu Dhabi Stamps 1963-1973". Mr Khalid Naeem won Large Silver for "India: Postal Markings and Rates of King Edward VII". Mr Naseer Bin Ahmad Al Serkal won Silver medal for his exhibit "Dubai Stamps: Errors ’&’ Verities". Mr Ummer Farook won Silver Bronze medal for "Mahatma Gandhi" and Bronze medal for his exhibit "Jawaharlal Nehru".

Mr Ali Abdulrahman Ahmad, was named a national commissioner from the United Arab Emirates, and EPA current President Mr Abdulla Khoory, was the only Jury member appointed from the Arab Countries in this exhibition.

These achievements have enhanced the UAE’s prestige in the world of philately. It is a great honour for United Arab Emirates to achieve above successes, EPA said.
