RTA Rolls Out Volunteer Campaign To Master Support For The Community

The Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) took part in a volunteer campaign made in the context of its relentless efforts to enhance the corporate social responsibility of its Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector, marking Volunteers Day, in a gesture that seeks to enhance the social role and interaction.

“The maturity of volunteer activities is critically important as volunteer work is a human practice closely linked with the values of benevolence and philanthropy, and practicing volunteer activities will undoubtedly result in favourable outcomes for all members of the community” said Peyman Younes Parham, Director of Marketing & Corporate Communication Dep’t at RTA Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector.

“It is imperative to encourage volunteer work and take part in social events which culminate the apex of human cooperation. These efforts have yielded the involvement of many entities which care for such volunteer activities out of its intention to advance cooperative initiatives with others” he continued.

“During the event, a bus had been deployed at the assembly point at RTA old office, at Umm Al Remool. Caps and T-shirts were distributed to all participants by the work team of the organizers. 3000 packs were arranged; each comprising cleaning materials, foodstuffs and other basic materials capable of bringing about a considerable improvement in the lifestyle of the intended recipients such as cushions, towels, and socks to be distributed to workers camps” added Peyman.

A team of RTA Marketing & Corporate Communication Dep’t took part in assembling, bundling, and packaging of materials and loading them on trucks. Afterwards the participants of the volunteer campaign drove off to workers camps for distributing those packs.

The response at the workers camps visited was cordial, friendly and full of respect. Moreover, they felt that there were someone who cared & acknowledged their role, and would be ready to lend them support whenever needed. Workers expressed their delight with RTA initiative to run this volunteer effort; which would play a key role in safeguarding the excellent urban and cultural achievements made.
