Dubai Ladies Club Supports Student-Founded Business Endeavour

Dubai Ladies Club to sponsor School Students participating in upcoming Young Entrepreneur Competition 2010

In line with their commitment to support and facilitate the growth and development of young Emirati talents, Dubai Ladies Club, a member of Dubai Women Establishment, today announced that it is sponsoring and supporting a group of students from Al Mawakeb school who will be participating in the upcoming Young Entrepreneur Competition 2010. Organized by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Est. for Small & Medium Enterprises Development, the Young Entrepreneur Competition 2010 is a four day event, held from 31st March until 3rd April, 2010, bringing together students from different private and public High schools, Colleges & Universities across the UAE, who will set up their stands and sell their products in a competitive environment.

On this occasion, Mai Sulaiman, Communications Director of Dubai Ladies Club said: “Our sponsorship to this talented group of students reflects our commitment to supporting and promoting young Emirati talents to pursue creative ideas and guide them to transform these ambitions into successful projects. We are pleased to encourage these young students to develop their own business for this prestigious competition and allow them to experience a real business environment.”

Three talented students from Al Mawakeb School: Maryam Al Mansoori, Maryam Shayan and Fatima Singel have built a unique business concept – called Quixotic – to sell exotic and stylish products such as beautifully personalised boxes, jewellery such as bracelets & necklaces, double-layered sheilas, artistic t-shirts, laptop cases, hand-made lotions and much more.

Now in its 6th edition, the Young Entrepreneur Competition is organised by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Est. for Small & Medium Enterprises, to create a competitive environment among the students in the real world of business, and to give them a real opportunity to manage their business and inspire the entrepreneurial spirit of investment in the young generations, and introduce them to the fundamentals of the business. The students will be conducting their businesses from 31st March until 3rd April, 2010 at The Dubai Mall.

The Dubai Ladies Club dedicates good attention and importance to younger generations by organizing several events and activities aimed at children and young girls, covering areas of art, culture and sports, thereby contributing to the rehabilitation of youth and prepare them fully for the challenges of the future, and to play the role expected of them in building the society and the nation. As part of this commitment, each year Dubai Ladies Club provides support and guidance to school students participating in the Young Entrepreneur Competition.
