Dubai Electronic Security Center (DESC) organized a workshop to support the implementation of Dubai Cyber Security strategy to discuss the KPIs of the strategy, the proposed initiatives by governmental and semi-governmental bodies, and the awareness initiatives organized by DESC with the concerned authorities. The workshop was attended by a number of directors and representatives of governmental and semi-governmental entities.
The workshop presented the strategic initiatives that will support the objectives of the strategy that was launched recently by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Minister of the UAE, and ruler of Dubai, recently. This workshop is in line with His Highness’s directives on the importance of uniting the efforts of governmental and private institutions, and individuals to provide a security cyber space.
DESC’s strategic projects, which will serve all governmental and semi-governmental entities in the Emirate, were also discussed. The Center’s awareness-raising efforts were carried out in cooperation with the concerned authorities, which targeted all members of the society and employees in government entities. DESC issued it first awareness related magazines “Esharat”, and awareness clips in cooperation with the Dubai Police Headquarters on various topics in addition to the summer camp for school students entitled “Online Safety Skills” in cooperation with ICDL Arabia. At the end of the workshop performance indicators for government bodies that will serve Dubai Cyber Security Strategy were presented.
Mr. Amer Sharaf, Director of Compliance Support and Alliances, stressed the need to cooperate with governmental and semi-governmental entities in order to achieve the vision of the strategic plan to enhance Dubai's position as a world leader in innovation, safety and security that permeates all segments of society, including the private sector.
