Dubai Chamber concludes summer training programme for Emirati students

The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry recently concluded its summer training programme, in which 11 students from a number of UAE universities participated.

The one-month programme, held at the Chamber’s premises, supported the non-profit public organisation’s strategic efforts to help young Emirati talent build professional experience and develop important skills that are needed to operate in a real work environment.

Participating students spent time working within the Chamber’s Excellence, Administration, Member Relations, Human Resources, Marketing and Communications departments, in addition to Tejar Dubai and the Dubai Business Women Council, which are both initiatives of Dubai Chamber.

Participants of the training programme came from various local universities and colleges, including Zayed University, the Higher Colleges of Technology, and Jumeirah University in Dubai.

Essa Al Zaabi, Senior Vice President of Institutional Support Sector at Dubai Chamber and General Coordinator of Tejar Dubai, said that the Chamber aims to provide an enriching learning experience for students where they can develop professionally, and enhance their customer service, presentation and teamwork skills.

He explained that Dubai Chamber provides a unique work environment as it supports the emirate’s business community, and provides services to its 210,000 members.

The summer training programme supports the Chamber’s Emiratisation strategy, which also includes the “Fursa: Together We Shape Your Future” programme. Nearly 100 Emirati students have been trained under both programmes since their launch in 2013, 26 of whom were employed by the Chamber.
