DEWA organises Al Khair Exhibition at Mirdif City Centre

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) organised the Al Khair Exhibition 2017 at Mirdif City Centre in Dubai, to highlight how prominent social organisations are serving society. This is part of DEWA’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and its efforts to achieve the goals of the Year of Giving and instil a culture of giving in society. Social and humanitarian organisations that took part in the exhibition include the Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Islamic Culture, the Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Cultural Understanding, the Community Development Authority, the Dubai Club for People of Determination, the Al Noor Training Centre for Persons with Disabilities, and the Dar Al Ber Society. Organisations showed their social and humanitarian services and products. These include services for People of Determination (people with disabilities), new Muslims, the needy, and other services and products that were appreciated by the visitors.

HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, commended the organisations that took part in the exhibition, noting that the Year of Giving is an optimal platform for public and private organisations to support the UAE’s national structure, in accordance with the directives of the UAE’s wise leadership. Al Tayer also commended the management of Mirdif City Centre for their efforts to support the exhibition by allocating the required space in the mall, and cooperating with DEWA and participating organisations, which contributed to the success of the exhibition.

“DEWA organised the Al Khair exhibition as part of its efforts to support the Year of Giving initiative, which was launched by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and to carry out the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to implement initiatives for the benefit of UAE society in the future, and work to establish a permanent change in the way the next generation serves the UAE positively. DEWA works according to an integrated organisational framework to serve society and promote cohesion among its members. We are pleased to cooperate with all humanitarian and charitable organisations,” said Al Tayer.

“DEWA’s CSR initiatives have always been an integral part of its strategy to serve the public good. The Higher Committee of the Year of Giving at DEWA has approved 12 main programmes to provide 27 social and humanitarian initiatives, covering the three themes of the Year of Giving. These are implemented in cooperation with leading humanitarian and social organisations locally and globally,” added Al Tayer.

Organisations that took part in the exhibition commended DEWA for its efforts in humanitarian and social work in Dubai and the UAE, and for organising the Al Khair Exhibition, which was an important platform to reach the largest number of people in society and directly interact with the public.
