Dubai Electronic Security Center discusses the enhanced and new controls that will made to the existing Information Security Regulation with government entities |

Dubai Electronic Security Center discussed the significant changes that will be made to the existing Information Security Regulation (ISR) with government entities during a workshop hosted by the Center. In the workshop, the Center previewed a list of enhanced and new controls that provides all Dubai Government entities with standards to ensure business continuity, and minimize information security related risks and damages. Amer Sharaf, Director of Compliance Support and Alliances at Dubai Electronic Security Center further explained that “Through our experience of the many audits conducted with the Government and Semi Government Departments, and collaboration with several key stakeholders we have identified the new requirements that are needed to address the ever-developing technological landscape.” Sharaf stressed on “the importance of discussing updates that will be implemented to the existing ISR with various government institutions to achieve an integrated system that prevents and / or reduces information security incidents to its minimum.” “In the future, DESC will continue organizing similar meeting and workshops to finalize the updates and launch the new regulation” Sharaf concluded. The objective of ISR is to establish an information security culture in all Dubai Government Entities. ISR intends to preserve an appropriate level of Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability for information assets handling controls in Dubai Government Entities. Dubai Electronic Security Center holds the responsibility of enhancing and maintaining the regulation continuously, ensuring that it address the challenges that may arise. |
