The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry recently hosted representatives from the Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Saudi Arabia’s Madinah Chamber of Commerce and Industry at its head office in Dubai.
During the meeting with RAK Chamber, Dubai Chamber officials shared expertise and best practices in the areas of membership, Certificates of Origin and attestation, as well as the various smart services provided to its members and businesses in the emirate.
Atiq Juma Nasib, Senior Vice-President, Commercial Services Sector, Dubai Chamber, highlighted the prominent role played by the Chamber’s Membership and Documentation department, adding that Dubai Chamber issued 923,000 Certificates of Origin and 5,500 ATA Carnets in 2016.
During a separate meeting with Madinah Chamber representatives, Dubai Chamber’s efficient customer services and systems were highlighted, in addition to its eco-friendly building and solutions.
Nasib stated that the UAE enjoys strong trade and cultural ties with Saudi Arabia, and noted that the kingdom was the top market for Dubai Chamber members’ exports and re-exports in 2016, which amounted to AED 87.7 billion in 2016.
He added that the visit by Madinah Chamber representatives supports Dubai Chamber’s efforts to encourage knowledge sharing on services and key initiatives, while such meetings also help enhance bilateral ties.
