Dubai Chamber, StartupAmsterdam set to host startup investor roundtable session

Session on January 17th in Dubai will gather an exclusive selection of startups from the UAE and Amsterdam

Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry in cooperation with StartupAmsterdam will host a startup pitch and investor roundtable session on January 17th in Dubai, which will bring together an exclusive selection of leading startups from the UAE and Amsterdam.

Participating startups will pitch to a group of investors, venture capitalists, and tech experts from the UAE and Amsterdam, including the directors of StartupAmsterdam and the Chief Technology Officer of the City of Amsterdam.

The session, part of an official trade mission to the GCC region led by Amsterdam Deputy Mayor Kajsa Ollongren, will serve as a platform for startups to share knowledge, insights and explore areas of mutual collaboration.

Startups from Dubai that are interested in exploring or entering the Netherlands and other European markets are invited to join the session, which will be held between 1pm and 4pm at the Chamber’s premises. At the same time, participants visiting Dubai will get a unique opportunity to learn about the emirate’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and meet with influencers at the centre of the local startup scene.

Supporting and growing Dubai’s startups and SMEs remains a major focus of Dubai Chamber’s strategy, and the Chamber has expanded the number of programmes and initiatives designed to support this sector in recent years.
Last year, the Chamber launched Dubai Startup Hub in collaboration with IBM to establish an online community that would nurture Dubai’s technology and startup ecosystem. The platform connects startups, entrepreneurs, developers, venture capitalists and students, enabling them to learn about new opportunities and create new partnerships that accelerate innovation and stimulate the local economy.

StartupAmsterdam, launched by the City of Amsterdam, is a public-private action programme that aims to grow and improve the startup environment in Amsterdam. The programme utilises assets to nurturing startups, helping them reach their full potential.
