Within the framework of the continual quest to attract national talents capable of keeping pace with the ambitious space projects in the UAE, the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) has announced 35 new career opportunities in the Engineering and Administrative sectors. The Centre has also launched a web portal featuring the vacancies, and the new MBRSC App, which enables job seekers to upload their resumés, as well as a brochure entitled “Your Guide to Start a Promising Career in Space”.

MBRSC announced these initiatives during its participation in “Careers UAE 2016”, one of the largest fairs in the UAE that showcases educational, employment and training opportunities exclusively for Emirati nationals. The fair plays a vital role in empowering Emirati youth and enabling them to communicate directly with institutions, agencies and companies from both the public and private sectors.

The career opportunities available at MBRSC cover various fields and disciplines, including: Information technology, mechanical systems, software systems, logistics, image processing, satellite and ground operations, application development and analysis, sustainable energy, project management, marketing and public relations, organisational development, human resources, procurement and administrative services and contracts.

Among the initiatives launched by MBRSC are a web portal on the centre’s official website dedicated to careers. In addition, the new MBRSC App contains all information about the centre and its space projects, and features a page that displays all vacancies, enabling jobseekers to apply easily on their smart devices. The application is registered and available on Google Play.

MBRSC hosted a public event aimed to allow visitors to meet a number of the engineers and administrators working at the centre, providing a good opportunity to inform the public about the scope and nature of the work in space projects, as well as the required disciplines.

MBRSC also took the opportunity to distribute a brochure at the event named “Your Guide to Start a Promising Career in Space”. This guide assists graduates or jobseekers in resumé writing and creating a special profile on LinkedIn ideally and properly. It also sheds light on MBRSC projects and the employment process at the centre, in addition to the benefits of working in the centre’s inspiring environment that encourages teamwork and innovation.

Mona Al Qemzi, the Assistant Director General for Administrative & Financial Affairs at MBRSC, stated that: “MBRSC plans to attract national professionals to come and work with us. We succeeded in increasing the number of employees in the technical and administrative sectors in 2015, and we will continue to pursue this quest in 2016”.

“Careers UAE is an ideal platform for new Emirati graduates and jobseekers to learn about the career opportunities available at MBRSC in the fields of engineering and administration. MBRSC adopts the highest administrative standards and provides a stimulating environment for its employees to enrich their abilities and knowledge and help them boost their productivity through knowledge transfer programs, training opportunities and workshops,” Al Qemzi added.

“MBRSC’s initiatives and training programs are designed to develop specialised national professionals who are capable of achieving excellence, innovation and creativity in order to meet the needs of the current and future projects at the centre, in line with the National Innovation Strategy, the strategic plan for the space sector and to keep pace with the needs and requirements of the Post-Oil Phase,” Al Qemzi concluded.
