Dubai Taxi’s Smart Monitoring initiative clinches UAE Ideas Award

“Scooping this award is a reward to the corporate ideas contributing to a smooth life of community members, which is what we are endeavoring to achieve through RTA’s third strategic goal of making people happier,” said Dr. Yousef Al Ali, CEO of Dubai Taxi Corporation.

“Under this drive the Smart Monitoring idea was perceived and developed into a smart administrative system for monitoring drivers & taxis of the DTC, enabling real-time monitoring of performance indicators, thus serving a prime objective of our leadership. The idea was initiated by an internal team comprising the Acting Director of Fleet Operations Ammar Al Buraiki; Manager of Private Services Mustafa Shalabi, and Operation Specialist Mowaffaq Taleb.

“The results of the ‘smart monitoring’ help assess driver’s performance, which in turn will add to the operational efficiency of the fleet in addition to reduce accidents, complaints & traffic offences. They will also improve the availability of taxis in city streets around-the-clock to meet the rising needs of customer and make them happier.

“The DTC manages about 4600 taxicabs, which accounts to 48% of the taxi fleet operating in Dubai. Taxicabs are operated 24/7 by more than 11,000 excellent cabbies hailing from 38 nationalities to serve the public and customers,” added Al Ali.
