Ministry Of Health & Prevention Targets Elderly Citizens And School Students Under Its "Mobile Healthcare Services"

The Mobile Healthcare Initiative aims to provide primary and secondary healthcare services to elderly citizens and school students in remote areas

The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) recently unveiled the increasing number of the beneficiaries from the Mobile Healthcare Services to 2730 individuals between 2017 and 2018 compared to the total number of the beneficiaries since the launch of the service in 2016 which reached 5692 individuals.

The Mobile Healthcare Initiative aims to provide primary and secondary healthcare services to elderly citizens and school students in remote areas.

Dr. Aisha Suhail, Director of Primary Health Care Department, said: “The Mobile Healthcare Program includes lab tests, nutrition tips, osteoporosis, Pap smear, chronic disease, and diabetes clinic and smoking cessation clinic. It also includes ENT clinics and a preventive program for oral and dental health.”

Dr. Aisha also highlighted the achievements of the program in 2018, as physiotherapists, psychotherapists, nurses, home care physicians and mobile clinics were trained through various workshops and conferences. In addition to the operation of the dental clinic in the mobile outpatient clinics in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, and provide a comprehensive examination of oral health and preventive dental fillings for school students

The Director of MoHAP’s Primary Health Care Department highlighted that the mobile health clinics provide treatment and preventive services to citizens in primary health centers on specific dates. The mobile units include Chronic Disease Clinic, Cardiovascular Clinic, Eye Clinic, Dental Clinic, and Dermatology Clinic.
