Emirates NBD Boosts Emiratisation Drive At Sharjah National Career Exhibition 2020

Bank participates in career event for 22nd consecutive year

As part of its ongoing efforts to boost recruitment of Emiratis, Emirates NBD, a leading bank in the region, today announced its participation at the Sharjah National Career Exhibition, which will be held from 09 – 11 February at Expo Centre Sharjah.

Aligned with the UAE government's drive to increase the number of UAE nationals employed in the private sector, Emirates NBD's participation in the career fair builds on its longstanding efforts to nurture young Emirati talent and boost the UAE national talent pool in the banking sector.

At the exhibition, the bank will conduct on-the-spot interviews for candidates aspiring for careers in the banking sector. One of the programmes being offered is Emirates NBD's exclusive 'Programme for Accelerated Learning' (PAL) talent advancement programme for university graduates. PAL is a 12-18 months extensive training programme that covers basic and complex banking systems, discussion skills, delegation skills, inspiration theories, and development training amongst others. The programme will enable successful candidates to receive certifications such as Certificate in Finance Accounting and Business (CFAB), Certified Banking Operations (CBO) & Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI), as well as on-the-job training in the organisation. The programme aims to help UAE Nationals gain banking experience whilst preparing them for a range of roles within the bank.

Meanwhile, Emirates NBD is also inviting high school graduates to apply for its Al Misha'al programme, which is an exclusive 6 months training programme designed for junior positions such as Tellers, Customer Service Executives and other banking operational roles. Besides job-specific knowledge, the programme is designed to also develop communication and English language skills and the ability to work in large corporate teams.

Commenting on the announcement, Eman Abdulrazzaq, Group Chief Human Resource Officer, Emirates NBD, said: "As a homegrown bank with deeply rooted ties in the local community, we are firm believers in the power of national leadership that has contributed to the bank's immense success over the years. Our participation in events such as the Sharjah National Career Exhibition supports our vision of attracting top Emirati talent and leveraging their skills to develop a capable and energised Emirati workforce that will contribute to the growth of the UAE economy."

"In 2019, the bank employed more than 196 qualified and talents Emiratis through employment and career fairs. Our overall commitment for this year is to hire more than 300 UAE Nationals – both experienced candidates and fresh graduates – for a range of positions, starting from junior to managerial posts," added Eman.
