Dubai Culture’s Visual Art Programme Returns With A Series Of Workshops And Lectures

In line with the Authority’s strategic roadmap.

Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture),in cooperation with Akaas Visual Arts, launched the activities of the Visual Art Programmefor Aprilwith a series of workshops and discussionson artistic photography under the supervision of a group of pioneering and young artists specialised in this field. The Authority is calling on allinterested individuals to participate to enrich their knowledge and refine their skills.

Dubai Culture organisessuch workshops for promising creative talents and those interested in visual arts in the UAE, regardless of their age and nationality.This comes within the framework of the Authority’scommitment to supporting talented citizens and residents in various visual arts fields, enrichingtheir knowledge, refining their skills, and providing them with the opportunity to express and explore their creativity.Through the programme, Dubai Culture also seeks to stimulate the active,creative participation of all society members in the emirate by investing in partnerships with specialists from the private and public sectors, such as with AkaasVisual Arts.

The Authority kicked off the April programme with the ‘Explore Yourself in Photography’session that was held on 2 April at the Al Safa Art & Design Library and presented by artist JassimAlawadhi, founder of AkaasVisual Arts.April’s programme will also include a lecture and workshop titled ‘Theatre Photography’ for beginners, which will be held on 10 April at the Dubai Public Library at 11a.m. and presented by artist Alawadhi, in partnership with the talented Emirati photographer, Faisal Al Rais.

On 16 April at 9 p.m., Alawadhi will take participants on a trip as part of the ‘Night Photography’ workshop for beginners, and on 23 April at 9p.m., the same workshop will be held for intermediates.Alawadhiwill conclude the month with a workshop titled‘Colouring Pictures by Hand’ on 29 April at 9p.m. in Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood.
