SCTDA Staff Party Marks A Successful Year Of Growth

Al Qassimi calls for persistent efforts to strengthen Brand Sharjah in the region and around the world

Sharjah has completed another successful and eventful year of amazing growth on tourism front thanks to the sincere efforts and hard work of the Team SCTDA, said Sheikh Sultan Bin Ahmed Al Qassimi, Chairman, Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority.

Speaking at the Annual Staff Party held at the Sharjah Equestrian Club, Al Qassimi complimented the members of the SCTDA team on their remarkable performance during the Year 2011, urging them to continue their quest for excellence and persistent efforts to build Brand Sharjah in the region and around the world.

He said Year 2011 saw the SCTDA explore new horizons and spread its wings to new markets and regions around the world, further enhancing Sharjah’s distinct profile in the competitive global tourism industry and attracting tens of thousands of new visitors to the emirate celebrated for its culture and heritage activities and events throughout the year.

“Our participation in international events has opened doors to new horizons and new vistas of possibilities. Besides, we are constantly working to develop our own world class tourism events and festivals such as the Sharjah Water Festival and the Sharjah Light Festival,” he said.

Driven by the vision and guidance of His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, the SCTDA continues to turn the spotlight on Sharjah’s eminence as the Cultural Capital of the Arab and Islamic world and a favourite family destination, he added. “All this is of course aimed at attracting more visitors and investments to Sharjah and strengthening its economy benefiting all sections of society,” said Al Qassimi.

Addressing the lively party held in the picturesque setting of the Sharjah Equestrian Club, the Chairman welcomed new members who joined the team during last year, strengthening the efforts to promote the Brand Sharjah. He also thanked the SCTDA Board of Directors for their continuous support and SCTDA staff for their commitment. “The credit for this success belongs to you all and as we go from here we must sustain it in years to come,” he said.

Members of the Board of Directors Marwan Al Serkal, Saeed Obaid Al Jarwan and Engineer Abdul Wahab Mohammed Al Roumi and SCTDA Director General Mohamed A. Al Noman were also present on the occasion.
