The handing over of the land demonstrates WRDC’s efficiency and commitment towards developing the region. WRDC is working towards helping the local community of Al Gharbia evolve and build their region. It constantly seeks opportunities to engage and inform the community on all the latest developments within the region. Yesterday’s hand over of the land to build the two new hotels, signals positive progress for Madinat Zayed’s residents. These developments will not only facilitate local economic growth but also provide local residents with new employment opportunities and local recreational facilities. Mohamed Hamad Bin Azzan Al Mazrouei, Director General, WRDC, said “Just few days ago we announced the development of the two hotels and yesterday we have handed over the land to the developers. I would like to take this opportunity to thank His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Chairman of the Executive Council for their continuous support towards Al Gharbia.” “I would also like to thank our government partners; the Western Region Municipality and the Urban Planning Council, who helped facilitated the realization of these projects. “ The first hotel is being developed by Saeed Khalfan Al Mazrouei, a local investor from the region and will be situated in Madinat Zayed. It plans to have a restaurant, coffee shop, business centre, health club, conference hall, swimming pool and a number of retail and commercial shops. Additionally, the hotel will have a number of private chalets dispersed in the green hills offering additional privacy to guests. The second hotel will be situated in the south of Madinat Zayed and will be owned by Al Dhafra Co-op Society, which was formed to serve the local communities in Al Gharbia. Saeed Khalfan Al Mazrouei, the owner of the first hotel on receiving the land, said, “WRDC has given me a great opportunity to begin a business in the region I was born and raised in. I am very grateful that WRDC’s main focus is on our region’s people and their development.” On receiving the land, Emad Al Khataib, Deputy CEO for Al Dhafra Co-op Society, said, “We are very thankful to WRDC for helping us and ensuring that this was a smooth process.
