Artparis- Abudhabi Brings Universal Art To United Arab Emirates


To Bring International Art Fairs To The Middle East And The Arab World, Abu Dhabi Authority For Culture And Heritage (ADACH) Entered Into A Partnership With Artparis










To bring international art fairs to the Middle East and the Arab World, Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH) entered into a partnership with artparis. The aim of this successful partnership is to establish a modern and contemporary art fairs. Consequently, “artparis-AbuDhabi” was created in November 2007 with the aim of creating a dialogue between all cultures through economic & cultural exchanges. artparis-AbuDhabi is the first exhibition to bring European art fair to the Middle East. The fair will start on the 17th and ends on the 21st of November in the presence of his majesty Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the crowned prince of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Giving the opportunity to visit the new art hub for people from UAE and all comers to the country in the weekend, the government of Abu Dhabi decided to open the exhibition on Friday as well. The great exhibition marks the participation of 22 countries exhibiting more than 3,300 artworks through 58 international galleries. It is to be mentioned that, in 2007 when Art Paris was first installed it brought about 16,857,000 USD, in the fair which attracted 9,200 visitors and collectors in three days. Notably, artparis-AbuDhabi offers all art lovers a unique experience as it takes them in a tour through different ages each with its distinctive artistic movement. The artworks vary between paintings, sculptures, photos, and installations displayed by 700 artists, among them are Pablo Picasso, Paul Cézanne, Alberto Giacometti, Henri Matisse, Yazid Oulab, Faisal Samra, Shirin Neshat, and others. In addition, artparis-AbuDhabi also presents promising artists from the Arab World, the exhibition is called “Movement & Communication: Travelers through desert and sea” organized by Amal Traboulsi, a Lebanese specialist in art of the Middle East. Through photography, painting and video, the exhibition shows the way in which contemporary Arab artists have been moved by the captivating natural elements. Moreover, among the exhibitions brought by artparis-AbuDhabi, there comes the Monumental Art Garden, which is an exhibition of monumental sculptures in the gardens of the Emirates Palace. A dozen galleries participating in artparis-AbuDhabi are displaying their artists’ works out of the Palace, in the “Sculpture Garden”. Abdel Qader Al Rais represents UAE. He is considered to be one of UAE’s most accomplished artists. He was the recipient of the first Sheikh Khalifa Prize for Art & Literature. Al Rais was one of the five recipients of the Emirates Appreciation Award for Science, Arts and Literature as an honour for his contribution to the creative arts. Besides, he has also been credited with taking the contemporary art movement of the UAE to international audiences. Apparently, one of the most important aims of the government of Abu Dhabi from the partnership with artparis is to brand the names of the Arabian artists, and make them noticeable in the world of Art. In artparis-AbuDhabi, many Arab artists have the opportunity to exhibit their works along with great names like Pablo Picass, and Paul Cézanne. In addition, art lovers from all over the world will enjoy a new taste of Arabian art.
