Six Days Before Abu Dhabi Awards Nominations Close

Awards Team Will Be Active During Eid Al Fitr Break

Nominations for the 2008 Abu Dhabi Awards will close this Sunday, the 5th of October, giving residents of the Emirate only six more days to lodge their nominations. With less than a week remaining, the Abu Dhabi Awards committee expects to see the traditional spike in nominations that normally accompanies the last days of the campaign. “We really want to encourage everyone in the community to take the time to nominate, as there are only six days left before the nomination period ends.” said Maryam Amiri, of the Abu Dhabi Awards committee. The Awards campaign has experienced an increase in the number of daily nominations during the last week as people realise time is running out. “The increase in nominations this week is a clear reflection of the charitable spirit during the holy month of Ramadan and we look forward to this continuing during the Eid holidays, which coincide with the last few days of the nomination period. Our Abu Dhabi Awards promotional teams will continue to base themselves throughout the Emirate in malls, on the streets and in other public areas during the Eid Al Fitr celebrations,” said Maryam Amiri. This week also marked an extremely significant milestone for the awards, with total nominations since the inception of the Abu Dhabi Awards in 2005 surpassing the 100,000 mark.
