Aldar Properties has pledged support to Emirates Wildlife Society in association with WWF, World Wide Fund for Nature (EWS-WWF) for their nationwide innovative educational programme that aims at enhancing environment awareness amongst school children, parents and the community at large. Pursuant to an agreement concluded on Tuesday, Abu Dhabi’s leading property developer has signed in as a financial partner to support EWS-WWF in their quest to educate the young generation of the UAE with the E-learning programme, ‘Interactive Enviro-Spellathon’, which will be launching in five emirates on October 21st. At the signing ceremony, Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Chairman, Aldar Properties, commented: “Building environment awareness is central to Aldar’s efforts to establish a model for sustainable development. Sponsorship of this project is a concrete example of Aldar’s firm commitment to its social responsibilities. We do hope the programme will contribute to building a generation of highly educated, environment-conscious citizens who appreciate and respect the UAE natural heritage.” Razan Khalifa Al Mubarak, Managing Director of EWS-WWF UAE, said: “The EWS-WWF initiative aims to protect and conserve the unique nature of the region by developing and implementing projects that actively deal with protection of the environment. Naturally, education is crucial to the success of such a huge endeavour and we are delighted to see that it has elicited strong response from Aldar and other leading organisations across the UAE.” Aldar Academies is one of many educational institutions across the country that will be participating in this exciting programme. The Academies runs two schools at the moment and has plans to build 20 schools within the next five years both within Aldar’s own communities and elsewhere in the Emirate.
