Ministry Of State For Federal National Council Affairs (MSFNCA) Launches Workshop Series Tackling Political Communications


The First Workshop Will Be Held On The 23rd And 24th Of November As Other Similar Events Will Follow Within The Coming 4 Months










The Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs launched recently a series of workshops in co-operation with the Sharjah University aiming at leveraging the press personnel’s skills in political communications and educating them on dealing with political events. The workshops aim at leveraging the partnership between the ministry and the media personnel from local and regional media outlets, playing a crucial role in spreading political awareness among Nationals and expatriates in the UAE. "We highly appreciate the key role played by the media in supporting the Ministry’s efforts to spread political culture amongst the public and raise the level of political awareness in the country." said H.E. Dr. Anwar Gargash, the Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs. "What has been achieved through the short life of the FNC constitutes a great experience that has enriched the political practices in the UAE and has lead to its progress and reaching high levels. We believe that the media’s serious determination in covering the FNC discussions and sessions with high professionalism and objectivity has helped us achieve our goals" H.E. Garagash added. H.E. Tariq Lootah, Director General of the MSFNCA said: "We are initiating these workshops as we truly believe in the importance of the role that the media plays in the process of raising the level of political practice and awareness. We hope that these workshops will contribute in fostering a solid relationship with media professionals and involve them closely in the efforts to push forward the political process on all levels and amongst all community members in the UAE". The first workshop will be held next Sunday (23 November) in the Sharjah University premises under the title:" principles, methods, general opinion, and implementation mechanisms". It aims at introducing political communications methods and tactics as real cases will be presented from around the region. The workshop will be focusing on political issues and research methodologies and its tools to obtain a proper political understanding. It will also shed the light on media coverage around the world. Training sessions will be included in the Ministry’s workshops, tackling the means of media communications and the use of technology, describing the media outlets mission in transmitting the messages to their target audience. The activities will also include work sessions about Technology and the ways to hone skills over the internet. The workshops will be looking at partnerships between the MSFNCA and media professionals and the media coverage of the FNC election process.
