Site Preparation Of ADNH’s Park Hyatt Resort On Saadiyat Completed

Construction To Commence In January Next Year

Site preparation, excavation and dewatering at the site of the Park Hyatt Resort, Abu Dhabi National Hotel’s (ADNH) flagship project on Saadiyat Island, is now complete, according to a senior official from ADNH. “We are happy to report that we are well on track to ensuring that the Park Hyatt Resort on Saadiyat Island will be ready by 2010. The hotel is poised to be the very first hotel on Saadiyat Island when it opens in just over two years,” said HE Saif Mohammed Al Hajeri, Chairman of ADNH. Members of the ADNH’s senior management team visited the Saadiyat site last week and were briefed on the progress made on the prestigious project by Hill International, the resort’s project management firm. Noting that the construction is expected to commence early next year, ADNH’s Chief Executive, Richard Riley, said: “We are now in the process of appointing the contractor for Park Hyatt and we expect the construction work to begin by January 2009. We are very excited with how things are shaping up and we are thankful for TDIC for their support and collaboration on this project. ” Located on the northern part of Saadiyat Island next to the Cultural District, the luxurious 5-star property will be surrounded by two 18-hole golf courses and boasts a 9-kilometre stretch of pristine natural beach from where one can watch dolphins and the protected turtle-nesting habitat. Occupying over 75,000 sq metres, Park Hyatt Resort in Saadiyat Island is expected to be completed by the end of the second quarter of 2010. It will have 270 rooms and suites, 44 chalets, top class restaurants and world-class facilities dedicated to conference, banqueting and recreation. "As Abu Dhabi continues to grow as an important destination for tourists, holiday-makers and business travellers, a growing need is being felt for luxury properties in the UAE capital. Park Hyatt will be a vital addition to ADNH’s portfolio of high-end hotels and resorts,” noted Al Hajeri.
